No, I'm not blogging about the new President. Tricked you, hunh? Instead of talking about the happenings of today (which I'm sure EVERYONE is tired of hearing about), I'll tell you about some changes occurring in the Morris household.
Let's see ... Tim and I traded the Tahoe yesterday. Down-sized, if you will. I'm finally back in a car- a little, teeny, close-to-the-road car. And I love it! We've got a 2009 Honda Accord, nothing too fancy, but it serves it's purpose. I'm obviously not on the road to getting the Audi I was after, so I'll take the Honda. What did the kids have to say about it? Kendall : "Wow!! It's so cute!" (Everything is "cute" to Kendall. "Cute" or "ridiculous.") Tanner : "You got new car, Mommy? Where da movie?" (No DVD, which should prove to be interesting.) My favorite part? It's a tie between the fact that I don't have to heave the kids up into their car seats and the $150-dollars-cheaper car payment. Just one way we're trying to make ends meet these days.
What else? I've been inspired after watching
Wife Swap last week. Did you see the crazy coupon family? How awesome were they?!! They could get $100 worth of groceries for 10 bucks!! So that's my new goal ... to clip like crazy and, hopefully, save like a madwoman.
Sequoia Builders Development has halted all construction due to lack of funds. I hope Tim doesn't get upset by me announcing this. We're thinking that everyone is just plain out of money. So we've been watching Tim's dream flush down the toilet for the last few weeks. He has 3 unfinished, un-sold houses and 1 finished house in our neighborhood. And no one's shopping for houses. Yes, it's a buyer's market, but that doesn't matter when the buyer's don't have money either. Tim seems OK with the situation. I know he's tired of everything -- tired of the stress, tired of the long hours, tired of having to tell people what to do and when to do it -- and for what? For a few bucks after the houses close? No, thanks anyway. So he's happily going back to being just a plain ole' electrician, and that's fine by me.
Hmmm, the job search -- I know you're all wondering about that. Well, I got Cobb County turned in, but they don't post jobs until March, and everything has to be done online. So we'll see. I'm waiting on my PRAXIS II test scores to turn in my Cherokee application. Why they need those, I'm not absolutely sure, but I've been waiting on them for a few weeks. Hopefully that will be resolved soon. I've also been spending some time online looking at online tutoring and teaching opportunities for now and for the Fall. Maybe, just maybe, if I can find some source of income, I'll be able to stay home for one more year. I'm excited about the idea but not getting my hopes up right now. I did apply for a PRAXIS scoring job today; I'll have to score the written portions of PRAXIS tests being taken by teachers now. I don't think it starts until May (closer to graduation), but it pays $18 an hour, so that would be fab-u-lous! Cross your fingers.
I guess that's all that's been going on around here. Aside from hoping for some snow, we've just been hanging out. If it's going to be this cold, we better get some darn snow!!

I LOVE IT! hope you love your new car. lee and i are going to buy our own honda accord this weekend to replace our 1994 corolla with its 197,000 miles! :-)
Good for you for making changes and adapting so well. Stacey beat me to the punch on the grocery game. I've heard great things, but I haven't gotten into it yet. couponmom.com is a decent one too. I have great intentions, but I have yet to use either of those. Good luck and enjoy that new ride. It sounds CUTE!
